In honour of the current school year coming to a close for me, I’ve put together a few casual outfit ideas inspired by my school uniform. There’s more to come this week…

R- Joshua 10, a form of daylight savings in the general sense. The sun stood still in the sky for 24 “fall back” it has happened before then and hasn’t happened since.
It isn’t saving me anything. It saves the time I could be resting. Early rise early out to school. All day I kept wondering what time is it in the real world? Wherever the real world is considering the different time zones. Why is America trying to skip an hour, is it going to get us out of this recession sooner?

There are cuss words and there are words that are just bad to call people, either way if you have to think twice about it, or second guess whether or not you should say it in front of a child then you shouldn’t say it. I wrote and gave a random survey to 10 uniquely different individuals (a.k.a. my friends), it was a very insightful survey for them, that had opened their hearts to the truth. {They didn’t exactly say this, but they were probably thinking it.}

The top 3 worse cuss words

  • OMG (God’s name in vain)
  • B***h (female dog)
  • F**k   (expressing disgust)

“Have you said any of these?”

  • Yes
  • Never
  • In my head\On accident
  • No
  • Yes
  • No
  • No
  • Yes
  • No

“Are they bad to use anywhere?”

  • “Yes, bible says not to curse.”
  • “Yes, the bible tells us about not cursing or swearing.”
  • “Some aren’t. They don’t always mean bad things, like a donkey or your butt.”
  • “Yes, I was taught not to, my parents want me to be classy, they said its disrespectful, and it shows you have no manners.”
  • “Well yeah, it isn’t common courtesy.”
  • “They’re bad everywhere.”
  • “I don’t understand the question.”
  • “They are never ok to say.”

“When are they good/ alright to use?”

  • “No where?”
  • “Never.”
  • “A long time ago, in the bible.”
  • “Never, except praying, where God’s name won’t be used in vain.”
  • “Never.”
  • “Nowhere.”
  • “I don’t know, you just shouldn’t use them.”
  • “People use in arguments, a better way to prove there point. But thats shallow.”
  • “They are never okay.”
  • No answer

“Would you teach them to kids?”

  • “No.”
  • “No.”
  • “No.”
  • “Never.”
  • “No.”
  • “No.”
  • “No.”
  • “Not unless they ask the meaning.”

“Do you care when/ who you say them around, if you say them?”

  • “Yes, I feel guilty.”
  • “Yes, but I didn’t before.”
  • “Yeah especially when it’s really bad.”
  • “Yes, some people take it the wrong way, and use it against you.”

“How do you feel now, that you took the survey?”

  • “I feel good.”
  • “You could’ve made it a better survey.” “How come?” I don’t know, I’m just not a survey person.”
  • “The same.” “How come you feel the same? This was supposed to change your life.” “They we’rent life changing questions though.”
  • “I feel more against cussing…” “You’re bluffing.” “Yeah, but it sounded nice.”
  • “I feel kinda awkward, Rachel you’re crazy.”
  • “Normal.” “It didn’t change you?” “Not really.”

Before eve and Adam ever ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, sin had never touched down on the face of the earth. It was life the way we dream, and write fairy tales about, or make movies where couples elope, it’s a wonderful world, well it was. No pain, no agitation, bad feelings, or bad thoughts, no deception, no death, no decay, no fear, no anxiety, and nothing to be worried for. It was too good to be true and as bible history documents it couldn’t last on earth forever. If that’s not bad enough to know, when sin entered perfection left. Our will to be good, holy and pure had left with that first lust after the fruit/ touch of the fruit/ bite of the fruit/ and digestion of the fruit…was it worth it Eve?

Faith FAQ’s
• Why put a tree of Knowledge of good and evil in the midst of the garden of Eden?
You never realize what you’re “missing” until it’s pointed out to you, for better or for worse. It wasn’t bothering anyone, until it sparked Eves imagination. God is “pro-choice”, He’s given us the choice even if it means to disobey Him and spoil the world, we were given a choice. Hype, taboos, and stereotypes make everything look better than (or worse than) it really is, not much is based on truth anymore, the serpent brought deception.
• How come the woman(Eve) didn’t fear the talking serpent?
Like all evil it was probably disguised, however some evil is just so blatant: drugs, alcohol, adultery, lieing. Or maybe it was common to speak with the wildlife nothing new. This had nothing to do with anything.
• The Curses:
– Serpents and snakes crawl with no limbs as a suffering and punishment.
– Humans are not to be friends with this vile vulgar cursed creature ( I don’t like them anyways)
– The sorrows of women are greatly multiplied.
– Child birth is a pain (so they tell me) emotionally, and physically.
– Women desire to be loved by: husbands, significant other, boyfriends, fiancée.
– The ground works by mens hard labour. Nowadays, it’s tiring and and upsetting not always bringing food in it’s due season.
– We will die and it will be sad.
– Eve got her name: mother of all living.
– the first beast was killed for clothing.
– They were kicked out of God’s favour
• What does the rest of the world have to do with what eve and Adam did in the garden?
– Eve is the mother of all living, it became a generational curse. Yo are to lead by example ….  As humans we have obviously proven that by the way we’re living today it wouldn’t have made a difference if it was eve, Adam, me or you, we’re so far fetched now. Go figure.

Have you ever felt that you live your life within a miniature fortress? Not necessarily meaning everything perfectly fine and dandy but simply that, the world is being lived around you, and all you do is sit, watch, and listen? Today is the day I felt I lived within a garrison. My friend and I hoped out of the car at tennis practice and heard the sound of two vehicles colliding. We looked at each other just to clarify that it was real, as I chuckled to myself “it must be up the road”. We walked on to the tennis court to find that it was deserted, except for one of our coaches on the phone speaking in a tone I could not understand. Three tennis guys (from the club) whizzed by us, one saying “someone could be hurt” another “call 911”. After a beat, I get it the car accident happened just over the wall of our tennis court less than 10 feet away. Moments later we hear the sirens, and horns. It was a total of 4 fire engines, 3 paramedics, 6 sheriffs, and 2 rescue helicopters. Word is, there was an older man who broke a few ribs and was bleeding from his stomach in one car, and a man and his son in another. When i finally got around to rubbernecking I saw chunks of car(s) everywhere and in the midst of the car chunks a lonely half beaten vehicle (artistic almost, but in a sad way). It got me to thinking if we drove any slower could we have been in it, or any faster would we witness it?

G.I.R.L. – 1 Thessolonians 5:18 “in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

I don’t try and interpret what God is trying to say, I just give it. In a scenario like this where life and death is at stake, we’re supposed to give thanks (for something or anything) and know that the creator of the universe does all that He does for His good, perfect, pleasing plan.
